By referring to these 2D and 3D floor plans you should quickly gain a sense of the overall layout.
Villa Carpe Diem is built on three floors. The accessible suite is on the lower ground floor. The communal areas, the dining room, the kitchen, the lounge, the verandah, the sun deck and the swimming pool are on the ground floor. The four remaining bedrooms are on the first floor.
A glimpse of the site plan gives an indication of the overall layout of things including the ‘Yellow Brick Road’ (coloured brown on this plan) which connects the accessible suite with the communal areas.
The Villa was built by a local builder under the supervision of a qualified and experienced Civil Engineer / Architect. The Villa was designed by the current owner in conjunction with a friend who is a C4/5 tetraplegic. Access to the common areas and to the accessible suite is by wide, gentle ramps. All floors are tiled affording ease of movement when using a wheelchair or walker.
Accessible Suite Plan
Given the limitations one encounters when working with an on-line architect, in a different European nation, via email, the above plan shows the layout of the accessible suite (it is about 98% accurate). Please note the room with the single bed is never configured as drawn! The bed is positioned with the head at twelve o’clock or with the the head at three o’clock. The single bed is the Baltic turning bed, the twin bedded room has the Theraposture beds. A ceiling hoist can be deployed in either room when required. There is an external patio area with access off of the single room.
Ground Floor Plan
Our ground floor area is truly spacious. It offers unparalleled views of the surrounding countryside, the coast and sea. It is worth pointing out that we are not on an estate of cookie cutter properties. Villa Carpe Diem is unique. There is room here to breathe, relax and enjoy!
First Floor Plan
The master bedroom is easily recognised (it’s the one with the en-suite). The pool view room has a view of the swimming pool, the fields beyond the Villa and the sea, the sea view room has a view of the sea, the Maroni river valley and the hills beyond, the twin room is designed with small to young people in mind, there is no balcony access. (We have a baby alarm and two way radios which some people find useful)
Do We Catch the Sun?
Villa Carpe Diem faces due East. This means that the sun rises from behind the hills across the Maroni river valley. It pivots across the beach and sea as it rises in the sky before it descends behind the Villa in the late afternoon. At an elevation of seventy metres above sea level the property affords stunning views of the local area. Here the pace of life is as calm and relaxed as one would expect on the island of Aphrodite.
Our floor plans offer a sense of the overall layout of the property. Our access statement gives detailed measurements and advice. If you want to know about specific aspects of the Villa or the furnishings and equipment do please ask. We suggest that you refer to our photo galleries to gain even more detailed insight. Note: We plan to shoot new photographs and video during the Spring of 2017. These will be used to update the older photos. We will also show the additions and improvements that feature at Villa Carpe Diem in 2017.
