In Cyprus who do you turn to when you need an accessible taxi?

This is the question that we faced some little time ago. Accessible taxis in Cyprus are rare. They are not quite as rare as wheelchair accessible vans for hire but they are rarely found on the island.

We have customers asking us on an almost weekly basis, this very question. So let me address it here.

When, as we do, you live outside of the major towns and cities of Cyprus you face a challenge of getting a taxi. They talk about ‘the villages’ and at times it can feel as if we are cut off. Now that may be an advantage, in terms of quiet. Or it may be a disadvantage, especially when you want or need a taxi. Certainly, for local journeys that you might expect to be able to make, in the way that you would back at home, taxis will often decline to come out. The problems, as you can imagine, multiply when you need an accessible taxi.

Our go-to accessible taxi firm is run by a Greek Cypriot whose name is John. John speaks English and has a fleet of taxis including some accessible taxi vans.

John’s business operates from Larnaca. This is a particular benefit for guests flying into Cyprus who choose to arrive at Larnaca International Airport.

The company specialises in airport transfers, providing a clean and comfortable ride to their destination. They offer 4-seater, 6-seater and Mini bus taxis, as well as Wheelchair Accessible Taxis (wheelchair adapted taxis).

For cyclists, they own a special trolley for the safe transport of bicycles.

Their cars have all the certificates needed as a mean of transport, provided by the European Union.

Their taxi drivers speak Greek and English, and they also hold a professional taxi driver’s licence.

When you arrive at the airport, your driver will be there looking out for you. They may be holding a signboard with your family name. They guarantee you a pleasant and comfortable ride to your destination.

Larnaca Airport transfers to Maroni, Ayia Napa, Protaras, Paralimni, Larnaca, Pernera, Nicosia, and Paphos are available and to other destinations on enquiry.

The company offer an around-the-clock service. Booking is highly recommended.

You can look at their webpages to see their scale of charges as well as their contact details. Based on the experiences of our customers as well as our own experience we highly recommend John’s Cyprus Taxi.
